It is too hot to stay indoors, and sometimes too costly to have fun outside with a student budget. But fret no more because the open-air cinema is here for everyone to enjoy until September 1, with a wide range of movie selection. You can have a chill movie night under the stars which is a great way to enjoy long and beautiful summer nights. So, for further details keep reading the post!
Daily, at the inner courtyard of Schwarzen Kloster (entrance at the Rotteckring 12, between C&A and VHS) the movie screening will take place. The tickets cost 8€ and it is possible to get them by pre-ordering by phone & picking-up at the Friedrichsbau until 20.00 pm or at the box office at the Schwarzen Kloster until 8.30 pm. Screenings begin at 9:30 pm until 4th August; between 5-11th August at 9:15 pm, from 12th August on at 9 pm, and on the last day it will begin at 20:45 – all according to the sunset hours so that you can enjoy the starry night sky and experience a true open-air cinema feeling.
In case of bad weather, you can call the cinema around 19:30 to find out about possible cancellation. Otherwise bring a raincoat along because once the movie starts, it will go on! It is obviously not allowed to bring food and drinks from outside; however, it is possible to buy drinks and snack at the counter in the entrance.
This year’s program is exciting as ever, since it involves not only classics but also premiers and the best movies of the previous year. It is worth reminding that all movies will be in German – a good excuse to polish your listening skills! Some highlights from the program are Lady Bird, La La Land, Call me by Your Name, Loving Vincent, and the Oscar winner The Shape of Water.
